Marzena has studied photography at The University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund (Germany).
She is drawn to issues that are connected to her personal experiences such as migration and the question how an environment shapes our identity or how we as humans shape and interact with our environment. In her work she investigates the meaning of PLACE/HOME in all it´s meanings. Her pictures often oscillate between inner and outer landscapes.
Lately, her fascination with rough nature and extreme weather has brought her to the North, where she explored the lives of small communities living in remote and inaccessible environments. She has spent almost three years at a Weather Station on Iceland .
She is interested in topics about identity & belonging aswell as isolation, nature, environment, weather and climate change.
Her images can be found in exhibitions, magazines, newspapers and in her books.
She speaks German, English and Polish.
